After the meeting with our mentor last week, Jo advised us is to use affinity diagramming's method of data analysis to coded the factors that affect employee retention rates mentioned by all interviewees. 

What is the Affinity diagramming?
Affinity diagramming is a business tool to generate groupings of data based on natural relationships through brainstorming or by analysis of verbal data gathered through surveys, interviews or feedback. The result is the thematic organization of ideas and data.

Spend the whole day
After each person was assigned audio interviews from different departments, the interviewees' answers were sorted out. Each person used a different color post-it notes to record the answers to the questions mentioned by the interviewees that affected employee retention. And then we posted the Post-it Notes together with the same description of the reason so that all the answers were well classified. At the same time, different colors of Post-it Notes can be known as their department at once.


Since this is the first time we have done data analysis in this way, although it has taken a long time, it is really helpful to our analysis results. At the same time, the discussion has also enhanced the ability of teamwork.

Flustered but Perfect Ending ❤️ 😣 Crazily modify report Because the interview analysis need more time, we did not give the entire report draft to our mentor(Jo) for the first time. We have only submitted a literature review draft that has been completed and hope to get more advice from Jo.  It can be said that Jo really attentively suggested that the content literature review should have a wider range of data and a more logical layout.  Only for this part, we modified it more than eight times!!  From then on, we started the process of crazily modifying the report. ·  Classification of post-it notes This is first time we use analysis method:  affinity diagramming.
